Lots of expectations met. Highly reccomend.. Played the Japanese version for four years and it's one of the best fighting game out there. Mechanics are simple but effective, the sprites, the background are gorgeous and the music is the same as the VN but you know better than me that is amazing. The short stories included with arcade mode are neat. Must buy if you like Umineko and/or doujin fighters.EDIT: The new netcode is simply amazing.. The game lets you play as Furudo Erika and Dlanor A. Knox and prove the validity of the Natsuhi-culprit theory. The game lets you play as Battler and resolve the duel between Shannon and Kanon. The game lets you explore the Ushiromiya family members' alibis as Rosa and Battler. Beatrice, Lucifer, Ronove, and Virgilia are all playable characters. And if you understood what all that means, this is the game for you.All of the dialogue between characters and the little scenes between battles is fully translated. From what I can tell, it looks like a pretty darn faithful translation too. That, for me, makes it a buy.The game also does not force you to fight Black Battler at the end of each arcade mode. He starts out locked, but unlocking him is pretty easy.Really, if you're an Umineko fan and you finished the story, go ahead and get it. If you just want a fighting game and you don't at all know the background, you will be very confused by the characters and what their special moves are. (You might enjoy it regardless, but you won't know at all what's going on and it's gonna come off as bizarre.)Seven stakes out of seven.edit: The command list is now fully translated.. Fantastic port! I was a fan of Ougon Musoukyoku ever since it was first released on PC then ported onto the XBOX. I have to say this Steam version functions very nicely and I just feel great to be able to play this game again!. I never bothered with fighting games so I can't comment on the game in that area but this was pretty neat as a fan service game. This is a decent game for newer fighters.Most, if not all, characters have the same special activations, and is pretty easy to understand.The controller support is wonky (upon setup, check the controller to make sure its what you want)The fighting HUD is a bit weird to learn, but not too hard to learn.Overall: light like, decent for fun
